It's my birthday today! Well, technically yesterday, since it's past midnight now, but in other time zones it's still my birthday!

22 years old. Damn. I keep feeling like a loser for still living with my parents and still having a shitty job that pays shit, but then I remember pretty much everyone else my age is in the same boat, and then I feel a little better. Only a little, though.

I got some cool stuff, though!

Over $300 total from various people (co-workers, dad, aunts and uncles, grandparents)
New Vans slip-ons
Two dresses
that Wreck This Journal thing
the Hunger Games trilogy, and another book whose title I don’t remember
Spider-Man shirts and a Snoopy shirt
Two posters from Bonner (Star Wars and Spider-Man)
Cupcake memo thingy, a book, and a teddy bear from Canada from Beth
Paris Amour lotion, body wash, and body spray
Pitfall 3-D and Michael & Michael Have Issues from Rob (still in the mail)
and I think that’s it

I celebrated with my parents yesterday because today they went to the Uproar music festival, so my friends came over for a party today. And when I say party, I mean we sat around and watched Arrested Development. Which is the best kind of party to have, tbh.

I just gotta decide what to do with this money...

Because you're all very interested in presents I get, here's all the stuff I got for my birthday:

-A glass teapot with infuser (Mom)
-Two tins of Tazo tea (Mom)
-A Fujifilm S2500HD digital camera (Dad)
-A shirt (Mom)
-A dress (Mom)
-New Vans shoes (Mom)
-$115 in cash from various relatives
-A cupcake recipe book (Anna)
-A chocolate recipe book that is fancy and awesome (Sophie)
-Decorating tips for pastry bags (Sophie)
-A shot glass (Beth)
-"100 Words to Make You Sound Great" (Beth)
-Seasons 1, 2, and 3 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (Rob)

I had a Cosmo with my mom at Applebee's, and went out to dinner with Rob later that night and actually didn't get carded, which was hilarious. I also went and bought myself some wine while my mom was buying my birthday cake.

Going to a bar tonight with the gang and Rob, hopefully, so that should be fun. ADULT THINGS!

Apparently, I am doing bakery training on Friday! :O Sweet!

In other news, today I went into the city with Beth and her friends to celebrate her birthday. We didn't really do anything; just ate at her favorite restaurant in the Village and walked around and went to 16 Handles. And we (well, I) convinced Beth to get an alcoholic beverage at a bar, since she's 21 now and everything, so she got a very expensive drink at this fancy bar. Thankfully she liked it, haha. I forget what it was called -- New London Something Something.

Aaaand I'm getting a cold sore. >:( I haven't had one in a VERY long time, so I guess I was due for one, but I can't find my abreva so I'm gonna have to waste another $20 on a tiny-ass little thing that is very easy to lose. Sigh. But the stuff works miracles, yo, so I guess it's worth it.

Heading over to Sophie's soon to make delicious brownie hot sundae cake thingies, but before I go, here's what I got for my birthday!

-approximately $100 in cash from relatives

-My Booky Wook (you know, the Russell Brand book)
-Mixing bowls
-Spatula for spreading icing and that sort of thing
-A Dessert Decorator Plus
-Two shirts
-A necklace
-Adorable baking cups
-Color Mist (for cupcakes, etc)

I will probably save the money for Comic-Con...

eta: Forgot to add these...

-season 2 of The Big Bang Theory
-Summer Heights High (from Sophie)

IT'S MY BIRTHDAYYYY

I'm 20 years old! No longer a teenager. Man, I feel old.

MY BIRTHDAY SWAG )

I also received more monetary notes from relatives, and The Sims 3 that I got in July also counted as a birthday present. Good times. (although I feel sort of bad that my mom got me all this stuff when we haven't exactly been rolling in dough, but hey)

IT'S MY BIRTHDAAAAY

There aren't too many plans for today -- we're gonna go out to eat lunch with my grandma because it‘s her birthday today too (and my second cousin's -- August 24 is a popular birthing day in my family, it seems), and brownies will be had, and a couple presents will be opened.

But in one year I am going to be 20. What the fuck.

The New York City day-trip was yesterday, and I had a good time, even though it was muggy out and the service at the bistro we went to was horrible. But yes. We went to the Rock and Roll Annex, which was interesting, and we went to The Strand where I bought The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and Anna bought some Spider-Man notecards for me (chyyyeah). And then the bistro -- dear Lord. The waiters seemed to have no idea what was going on, and the cheesecake we all had was entirely too expensive.

The day ended sooner than I thought it would, mostly because we had run out of things to do that didn't cost money and didn't involve being outside, but it was still a good day overall. I just loved being in New York again, and teared up a bit on the way home. God, I want to live there again so fucking badly.

19th birthday is tomorrow. What up.

Holy shit, someone's written a Mike/Edward fic besides me!

I'm glad a fic has finally been posted at that damn community, hahaha. Oh, Twilight.

In other news, have calmed down a bit since yesterday, although still anxious and scared. I know I probably qualify for deferments and lower monthly payments and crap, but I'm still incredibly worried and wondering what the hell is going to happen to me.

But! I'm gonna try to not let it bother me for the next couple of days. Today Bonner is sleeping over, then the daytrip of awesome tomorrow, then maybe Coney Island on Sunday, and then my birthday on the 24th. And I got some money for my birthday in the mail today too, so I can use that for the trip, etc. Good times.

Today was a day of lounging around in my pajamas, watching A Very Potter Musical (which was hilarious, by the way), eating half of the second batch of cookies I made, and... that's pretty much it. It was very unproductive and awesome. Although I feel sort of guilty, since I've only written about two pages of the sequel to Friends Like Enemies so far, but whatever.

I thought Bonner was gonna be coming over tomorrow, but instead she's coming on Friday and spending the night before AWESOME BIRTHDAY DAYTRIP OF AWESOME on Saturday, which I forgot to mention on here. Basically a bunch of us are going to NYC for a day, and then Coney Island the next day (at least, I hope that works out), and it shall be great.

But anyway, that leaves me with nothing to do tomorrow, so I'll probably sit around and watch a fuck-ton of movies or something, idk.

MY LIFE IS SO EXCITING

People keep moving around upstairs and outside and talking and it is irritating the hell out of me. All of the creaks in the floorboard and the feet shuffling and the low murmurings and people passing back and forth outside the window is making me want to go stab nice, fluffy things. Luckily I have my music so I can drown out the noise, but I can't really avoid the people walking outside.

...Unless I go in my room. That might make sense.

Sophie's ([livejournal.com profile] skypipe) birthday party is today! :D We're supposed to dress up as our favorite TV characters, but I left my Lassiter costume back at my dorm by accident, so instead I'm dressing up in all blue, drawing the hydrogen symbol on my forehead, and going as Dr. Manhattan. Even though he's not a TV character. But I am out of ideas. Anyone else and I would need specific clothes that I just don't have.

Haven't started the Watchmen fic yet, but once the shoot is done on Wednesday I will get right on it.

I'M LEGAL!

(...not that THAT really matters)

Well, I'm headed back to New York for good in an hour or so. We bought snacks and drinks and stuff yesterday, so I should be all right. Although, my computer is being retarded and wouldn't load the Internet this morning... I think the secret to getting it to work is playing David Bowie on my mp3 player and holding the ear-buds against the keyboard. Worked this time.

I didn't really do anything for my birthday -- went to my grandma's because it's her birthday today too, and a bunch of relatives came over. My second cousins said I look just like Ellen Page. :D I got some money from my grandma and aunt, and THIN MINTS YAY!!!! I love those fucking things, man.

And OMG, look what db01_french drew for me! )

So, even though we weren't entirely ready, we had to perform our scene from The Odd Couple today in English class... which was basically all of Act I. Man, they screwed up I don't know how many times -- especially Tiffany in the second half; we were jumping around the script like crazy and we missed whole pages of dialogue. I kept having to save everyone, lol. But it turned out well -- Boness said she was giving us an A, so yay! \o/ I love my Oscar Olive costume, though; it was a Steelers baseball hat with a loose button-up shirt and a black tie, and my old jeans that have two huge gaping holes in them. I wore it the rest of the day... well, until a little after I got home. It's my mom's birthday today, so we went into Seattle and ate at this fancy restaurant. Then we went to Barnes and Noble and I caved and bought The Host. I'm not very far into it yet, so I can't give you my verdict. I will when I'm done with it, though. Watch, I'll probably end up joining the fandom... if there is one yet.

And as for the essay I was bitching about in my last entry, one of the assistant principals called me down today and told me that I just had to tack on a lame-ass paragraph at the end to tie it to the prompt in some way and I'd be good to go, since it wouldn't be graded. He said they tried getting a waiver for me but apparently there are absolutely no exceptions ever. Jesus. This state is an asshole.

And now, I must write the rules for this board game we have to make in World History. They just couldn't let me relax my last week of school, could they?
