Jackie: A Tale of Perversity and Woe

The hurricane didn't really hit my area too bad. By the time it got to us it was downgraded to a "tropical storm" and it just rained a lot overnight, stopped around noon, and then drizzled the rest of the day. And it was pretty windy. Nothing too crazy. Some parts of the town and the surrounding area did get flooded, but thankfully not me or Rob. The worst that happened was one of the branches fell off the tree on our front lawn, haha.

I had work from 12 to 4 today, and man, was it slow! It was completely dead for the first half-hour, and then people started trickling in once they realized the storm was over, since I guess they hadn't shopped enough Thursday-Saturday or something. The store was fucking CRAZY those three days, man. Long lines everywhere and empty shelves. I did a huge set-up on Friday evening, but the next morning they had to do even MORE of it because the rolls kept getting snatched up. Madness!

The night person called out so I wound up having to close the bakery when I left, but it wasn't like she would've had anything to do anyway. I even brought some of the load in, and I never do that, is how bored I was. AND I made cookies and put what few cakes we had left in the freezer out, and made some cannoli kisses. Hey, it helped kill the time, at least. And it'll give Jamie a little less to do tomorrow (she's the cake decorator).

eta: Oh, I forgot to add! The power went out for a minute or so and the alarms started going off like crazy in the store. It was kinda scary for a bit there.

Guys, I am so obsessed with this show right now. I've made a fanmix and I've started making another fanvid set to "In the Hall of the Mountain King" from The Social Network soundtrack. SOMEONE SEND HELP.

There was a massive blizzard today, as some of you probably know. My dad couldn't open the door at one point. Maybe I won't have work tomorrow! That would be awesome. Except that would probably mean my parents wouldn't have work either. And there isn't a whole lot of food in the house. And they would be loud and distracting me from my Very Important Editing and Internet Duties.

Also, why the hell are people with small children with them visiting the couple upstairs in the middle of the night?

I woke up at 11:30, and I can't believe it's still only 3:30. I've washed the dishes, swept and cleaned the kitchen floor, finished watching A Very Potter Sequel, sat on the Internet for hours, and am now watching Wonder Boys, and it's still nowhere close to time for Mad Men. I may very well be driven insane. And I can't even go anywhere because it's raining.

I'M TRAAAAAAPED. And the people upstairs are blasting their TV so loud and I can hear it down here and I hate that shit aggggh. SOMEONE COME SAVE ME

The mall's gonna be closed tomorrow, too! At this rate I may not even work at all this week. Or just Saturday.

I think, since no work tomorrow, I might go into the city and go bug the places I sent resumes too. Or perhaps it's too soon, since I just sent them out this weekend. I need to dig into my closet and find something nice to wear...

Also omg wtf new buttons LJ??? THEY LOOK WEIRD.

How the fuck is it still snowing? Jesus Christ! I wasn't even able to get to work yesterday... although it would've been for nothing, since the mall apparently closed at 4, so that would've pissed me off incredibly.

I've been trying to write a feature-length version of my short film Inverted, but man oh man am I out of practice. I haven't really written anything for such a long time that it's like I've forgotten how to do it. I can't connect to my characters, I can't write them consistently, and I can't come up with a plot. In short, I suck majorly. I dunno, I guess I'll just keep plodding through it somehow and try to fix it later.

I'm spending the night at Bonner's dorm, and it's been good times, even though it's raining like crazy out there. Swear to God, eight times out of ten, whenever I want to do something that involves not going to work or not staying at home, it rains.

Haven't been able to watch Glee yet, sadly. :( I would just download it but the Internet connection is slow and it would take forever and I just wanna go to bed. I feel bad, though, because I'm taking over Bonner's bunk and she's staying down in the lounge, but she insisted quite vehemently, so.

Going to go see Precious with Tanaya next Monday. I'm so excited to see this movie. Also, saw 2012 today, and it was exciting but dumb. Pretty much what you'd expect.

PS I saw a coat in Forever 21 that looks JUST LIKE the one Kurt wears in "Ballads" (the one he's wearing when he's all "It's 'cause she's a giiiiiiirrrrlllll"), and I want it so bad and I feel silly for wanting it just because a character on a TV show wears one like it, but oh well. Maybe I'll ask for it for Christmas.

So, it's around 80 degrees outside, supposedly, and yet inside the house it is still quite cold. The air conditioner isn't on or anything! What the fuck?

I'm in the middle of a LOST marathon, but I am taking a brief Internet recess because it is too much awesome to watch all at once. DESMOND. ♥ I need to find good LOST icons once I'm all caught up.

Dear God or Any Mysterious Entity That May Reside Over Us,

Please... if you exist... can you just do me a favor and have it, like, not rain on my film shoot tomorrow? Actually, rain wouldn't be so terrible, but... just please don't let it be windy. Please. I do not want to have to go through all of this trouble just to have the exact same problem as last time happen again. Please. I'm begging you. Just, do me a solid, huh? I'll do something good if you do. I can't promise to go to church or anything, or to start believing in you 100%, but I'll do, like, ten good deeds or something. I'll help the homeless, or rescue kittens from trees, or what have you.

Just... please. Please just let it go off without a hitch. Or I'll cry. Seriously, I will.

I'm pretty sure this is the last snow day I will ever have at SVA, but nevertheless it is nice and it is convenient. I wasn't looking forward to going to the train station and then walking back to my dorm in the snow and cold when I only have a light jacket with me. It was so nice out on Friday! :( But anyway, yes.

I went to see the musical at my old high school on Saturday, and man oh man I had forgotten how harsh the lighting is in the bathrooms. I took one look at myself in the mirror and immediately made the D: face. I looked like a swamp creature or something -- uneven skin tone, tiny pimples all over my forehead, no eyebrows, grossly pale -- it was frightening! I know I can't look like that everywhere. It's just in those bathrooms.

...Right?

It's really snowing out there, isn't it? O_o

Hard at work on my storyboard right now. I'm gonna draw this thing all damn day until I get 'er done. Then it's more LOST. \o/
