FINALLY, for the love of God!
Sep. 11th, 2008 10:08 pmI finally got my freaking Essential Amazing Spider-Man today! Man, I thought that thing was never going to get here. The packaging sure was beat-up, though -- I wonder what the hell that thing went through that it took two weeks to get here. Anyway, I am happy that it is now here, although I'm also sad. I get sad whenever I think about my Essential books. They remind me of Pike Place Market and how much I miss Seattle and Washington and the life I had there for the past year, and how I'm not going to be able to go back for a very long time, at least. And I'll never be able to live in the old apartment anymore. It makes me all teary just thinking about it. I never imagined I would miss the place so much!
Anyway, besides being all emo about Washington, these past couple of days have been good. I finished all of my homework ahead of schedule, I got a care package with TONS of junk food from my aunt who is just the best ever (if only I had my own fridge! It was hard cramming all of that stuff into the cabinets), and I got the Essential Spider-Man, and a kind anonymous soul paid for my LJ account for the next year (but I wish they would tell me who they ARE!), which eases my financial woes a little bit. I really, really hope someone calls me for an interview by next week. I'm not in any trouble yet financially, but if I don't watch it I will be, and if I don't get a call in the next couple of weeks I will start freaking out.
But classes have been good (except for Literature and Writing, ugh), and I have made the decision to major in Editing. I have a very good feeling about this, especially after today's Editing class.
Oh! And I finished reading Watchmen yesterday, and it was awesome, although the ending... it just didn't really feel like an ending. It was just like, "Okay. Wait, it's over?" And I thought the treatment of women was pretty misogynistic, and I was upset at the lack of minority superheroes. But I still enjoyed it, despite its problems. And LOL, I love how Heroes totally ripped off one plotline.
