My Customer Service Voice is a Canadian Accent

Me: Hello! How're you today?
Lady: I'm good, how are you?
Me: I'm pretty good! Do you have a bonus card?
Lady: *hands me her card* You're not from around here, are you?
Me: Um... I've lived in Jersey most of my life.
Lady: Oh! You sound like you're from Canada!

That's the second time this has happened! Someone else told me I sounded like I was German. IDEK.

Seriously, I cannot tell Americans and Canadians apart. I never have been able and I never will. Apparently it's very distinct? I just can't hear it. Apart from the helpful, 'ay', that is. Which I have now started doing. XD

It's just certain words, I think? Plus certain regions of Canada have stronger accents, I think. I don't know. I've never actually been there, lol.
