Shit is coming together, guys. It is becoming increasingly possible that going to SVA for that one year was not a waste of time or money, and that I will be able to make this my career and won't be stuck doing retail for the rest of my life.
Today's been crazy. Kyle (the guy who directed the music video) set me up with this playwright, and I'll be cutting a trailer for his musical for $300. ACTUAL MONEY. ACTUAL MONEY TO BE PAID TO ME TO CUT A TRAILER. I met up with him today at the Starbucks in my town and discussed the details. It's going to be a little difficult because all of the footage is on DVDs that I'll have to rip, but hopefully it won't take forever.
However, I discovered last night that, when I gave Kyle the video in New York on Monday, I had accidentally exported it to DV instead of HD, and I've been scrambling to try to find a way to get it to him, because I have no time to go to New York in the next day or two. The file size is very large (3 GB), and I even bought a premium membership on Mediafire, but it still didn't work (which is really pissing me off, btw). So I'm gonna have to mail him a USB flash drive with the HD video in it, haha. Which is kind of ridiculous, but what can ya do.
ALSO! Kyle is asking me to edit another music video for him, and this time, the song is actually really good. I don't have to worry about that until another week or so, though.
