A No Good, Very Bad Day.

Yeah. Today sucked. A lot.
So, I go in to work, and I'm pretty much in charge of the upstairs stuff, which is basically all Used (I work in a music and DVD store). The others jokingly refer to me as The Guru of Used. Anyway, so I go upstairs (after being very confused by the new employees, as no one had told me there were new people), and -
I mean, Christ! It's like no one even goes up there to clean and shit when I'm not there. I took off last Saturday because I was sick and Sunday was Easter so I didn't have work... and I guess that means no one goes up there and does anything? All of the stuff I hadn't gone through yet was still there, plus some new stuff, and THE PLACE WAS A DISASTER. Everything was misplaced, CDs were arranged haphazardly, and it looked like some idiot had gone through every single thing on the floor for the specific purpose of leaving a mess.
But I suck it up, because this is my job, and I spend about three hours making everything look neater and whatnot, and putting CDs and things in the right places. I was actually really quick, considering how bad it had looked when I'd got there. I was pretty pleased with myself.
So, I start putting stuff out for a bit, and then I go and take my lunch break. I come back, and...
IT LOOKS THE SAME AS IT DID WHEN I FIRST GOT THERE.
Okay, maybe not exactly the same - it wasn't quite as bad as in the morning - but it was pretty close. As I gaze in disbelief at all of my hard work just RUINED, I notice someone at the other end of the floor in the Country section going through CDs like a madman - and then he left with no freaking CDs or DVDs or anything. And I just KNEW that this guy was the one who had made such a huge mess, because he had been sort of starting it a little while before I left.
I mentally cursed him out as I cleaned the place AGAIN... I was done quicker this time, because he hadn't just left stuff wherever he wanted; it was just really messy. Okay. That's done, right?
WRONG.
A whole crapload of people decide to show up with about five toddlers in tow, and -
Well, you can guess what happened.
That's pretty much when I gave up and just let people make all of their messes because they all are either slobs, careless, out to get me, or can't control their kids at all.
So that would be bad enough for a day, right?
IT GETS WORSE.
Because my parents were both at work when my shift ended, I decided to sit at Starbucks for half an hour and read while I waited for the bus. I haven't taken the bus home ever, since my parents usually pick me up. This fact will be important later.
So, 6:25 rolls around and I leave for the bus stop. I knew that the 222, which goes straight to my apartment complex, stopped somewhere around the area. I just, um. Didn't know where, exactly.
So I'm running around trying to find the bus stop, and I finally find it - unfortunately, the 222 doesn't stop there. The 221 does. And I am confused. And I'm pissed, because now I have to walk home, which takes about forty minutes from where I am. And it's raining a little, but no big deal...
I start walking, and you know what happens?
IT STARTS RAINING BUCKETS.
And I am fucking pissed. I'm not even halfway home before I am soaking wet, since the traffic system here makes no sense and I typically have to wait about five minutes before I'm able to cross the street, AND because at one point the street DISAPPEARED and I had to walk back and cross the street to cross the street again.
And guess what?
THE 221 DRIVES BY.
BECAUSE THAT WAS THE BUS I WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE, APPARENTLY.
When when when when WHHEEEENNNN did they decide to change the 222 to the 221????????
I am now cursing up a storm and glaring the Sylar Glare at the world, scaring the passerby who seemed to have pulled umbrellas out of their asses or something, and before long some of the rain turns into snow, so it is half-raining, half-snowing, and I am freezing and soaking wet and it takes me forever to get home and nbiovbiowbhvrhvuw!!!!!! NOT. HAPPY.
And so, that was my day. How was yours?
ETA: And, as if this day couldn't get any worse - I forgot that my iPod was in my jacket pocket when I threw it in the dryer AND NOW MY IPOD IS BROKEN. *cries forever*

Date: 2008-03-30 04:23 am (UTC)But hey, this day, your frickin awful day, March 29th, will be over in less than 3 hours. And then it will be tomorrow, which will be endlessly better than today, I promise.

Date: 2008-03-30 04:38 am (UTC)I'm a believer in bad luck extending to three days. That's how it usually goes for me. *pessimist* Thank you for the kind words, though. *hugs*

One of my cheesy philosophies is that, when everything turns to shit, that means that things should start to pick up right afterward. So I am sure that that will happen to you, and I really hope that it does!

Date: 2008-03-30 04:13 pm (UTC)I certainly hope so. Thank you! ^_^ *hugs*

Date: 2008-03-31 12:15 am (UTC)1) I will never go into a record store and not put things back in their proper place again. Actually, I don't think I do that anyway. But I won't start now! <3
2) BUSES ARE ALWAYS EVIL. ALWAYS. DO NOT ASK ME WHY. JUST. ALWAYS. (trains > buses)
3) THE IPOD! Forgetting my iPod when I got out makes me want to cry, so breaking it would probably result in a suicide attempt. I can't handle not having music.
The upshot of it is...
ARE YOU OKAY?! =( Be okay. Get your iPod fixed. Get warm and dry. Get the anger out by
kicking the cathitting a pillow. Or something.*huuuugs*
