HELP ME.

I've given up trying to figure this out for myself, so I shall now enlist people on the internet to help me.

I've been trying to import my .avi files of Heroes episodes into Windows Movie Maker in Vista (aka the root of all evil in this world), and no matter what I do the thing will not load the episodes in there. Every time I try to start importing the program closes. I've downloaded the right codec (I checked) and the thing still won't let the eps import. I tried changing the settings on the "Data Execution" thing or whatever it is and nothing happens, even when I re-start the computer. I've been trying to figure out what to do for MONTHS and I haven't made any progress. I'm starting to get very frustrated because I have tons of ideas for fanvids but I can't make any of them! *tears out hair*

HEEEELLLPPP.

(or hell, just point me towards an editing program that will let me import the damn files and won't shut down on me that's a good editing program and not very expensive!!)

Uhrg, I feel your pain! I've been having similar (but not the same) issues with WMM & am about to give up.

& I don't beleive I've mentioned this, but the fact that you love Flight of the Conchords makes you even more awesome. I haven't actually seen much of them, but I had an amazing history teacher who used to show us episodes. =) They made me happy, and I'm determined to get my hands on the the series ASAP!

I use Cyberlink PowerDirector 3. Sometimes it's very picky, but it is MUCH better than WMM. And I think it pretty much imports all video files except .MOV...there might be some others. But there are video converters for those.

Ooh yeah, it's pretty much as good as Adobe Premier I think. If you find a place to download tell me, cuz it does seem awesome.

OMG! I feel ur pain! I don't know what to do either. But i have Vista and WMM doesn't do anything to me! it imports the avis excellently...of course i have a converter that converts all avis to wmv or mp4 but i think you should convert the avis to wmv it'll work easier there is a free place for it....

mine is actually not working up on me...but for my sisters...MAN THEY DON'T LIKE IT! lol. it always works for me...i wonder if i have a special bond for it...

I actually haven't had any problem with Vista so far. I'm actually liking it better than XP. But good luck with downloading an editing program. Sorry I can't help.
