How big of a dork am I?

tju_tju_tju_tjuI just spent the past hour working out the whole "Mohinder and Sylar Road Trip Show" timeline. Though it wasn't really a road trip. It couldn't have been. It's impossible. The last night it obviously was--Sylar pretty much said so--but the rest of it...yeah, no way were they able to get from Virginia to Montana and back to New York in two and a half days by car. Especially since the car we see them driving in Bozeman says "MONTANA" very distinctly, so it's obviously rented.
It just goes to show you how bored I am...eh, I'll post it. What the hell. Might serve as a good resource for some people.
Day 1
The real Zane calls Mohinder. Mohinder gets the message and immediately books a flight to Virginia.
Sylar pays his visit to Zane a little while after Mohinder receives Zane’s message. Sylar spends one-two hours talking to Zane, learning his habits and personality, etc. Kills him.
Mohinder arrives in Virginia about two-three hours after getting Zane’s message. Sylar is waiting for him. They chat for a while, when Sylar suggests he accompany Mohinder. They book a flight to Bozeman, which costs quite a pretty penny.
Day 2
They arrive in Montana. They rent a car. They arrive at Dale Smither’s garage sometime in the afternoon. They all talk. Mohinder and Sylar leave, and go do something else—eat, wander around, terrorize the townspeople, whatever—and they arrive at the motel somewhere around 6-9. Mohinder stays in his room while Sylar goes off to kill Dale sometime in between 10-midnight, possibly later. Might’ve taken the car, but if he did he parked it far enough away so Dale couldn’t hear him. Sylar kills Dale and steals her power, which would take about 45 minutes to an hour. He goes back, which would probably take less than an hour. Sleepy time.
Day 3
Mohinder and Sylar go back to the garage at around 10-11. They leave a few minutes later. Now, this is where it gets tricky—Sylar mentions something about Mohinder “driving all night” when they get back to NYC, but that is impossible, because supposedly their trip took 3 or 4 days, and you simply cannot get from Montana to New York in one day, no matter how long or fast you are driving. A possible explanation could be they get a flight to somewhere closer to New York and drive from there, but I would like to know where Mohinder is getting all of this money from. The first flight wouldn’t have been too much, but Virginia to Montana would cost much more, unless he managed to get extremely cheap tickets. Another thing about the planes, too—since when are you able to book same-day flights with such ease? Does Mohinder have this totally awesome travel agent or something? But this is a TV show, so we won’t focus on that too much.
Anyway, we’ll assume that they booked a flight to Kentucky and drove from there. Let’s ring up the bill so far (this is all approximate, obviously):
Flight from New York to Virginia: $412
Flight to Montana from Virginia: $2230
Rented Car in Montana:$61.99
Motel: $150 (cheap motel)
Flight from Montana to Kentucky: $1084
Rented Car in Kentucky: $144.00
So that adds up to $4081.99. Let’s assume that Sylar, being the nice guy he is, paid for gas, food, and the taxi back to Mo’s apartment. Exactly how much money did Mohinder make back in India? Did his dad leave him a bunch of cash in his will? Perhaps. It would certainly explain the amount of money Mohinder blew on this little trip of his. Might’ve spent almost all the moolah his dad left him.
So anyway, blah blah they get to Kentucky later that night, assuming they booked a flight with no stops, rented the car, drove all night and probably most of the morning, and we go right into the chai and tuning fork scene. Mohinder must’ve been tired as hell, man. Though I guess the adrenaline woke him up quite a bit.
