I really need a new book. Well, okay, I suppose I don't need one, since I have plenty of excellent books that I can re-read, but I would definitely like to read something new. My current infatuation with Benedict Cumberbatch has me curious about both Frankenstein and the Sherlock Holmes stories, so I'm thinking one of those should probably be my next buy. But which one? And, if I do go with Sherlock, which one should I start out with, do you think? GIVE ME YOUR OPINIONS, FRIENDS.

I'm in the middle of re-reading Lolita right now, though, and I have to say, I think it just might be my favorite book ever. It's just so fucking brilliant. And the prose is just to die for. I will never be able to write like that in my wildest dreams.

Frankenstein. I read it last Halloween. SO GOOD. (But Sherlock is also SO GOOD. Maybe flip a coin?)

I'll probably read both eventually... problem is deciding which one to start with! XD There's just so much Sherlock, though. And I wouldn't want to get, like, an anthology or anything because I'd like to carry it around with me in my bag.

I have 3 copies of Sherlock, and all are omnibuses :P. I'm still not really sure how that happened.

I found Frankenstein to be a pretty quick read. I'd go with that, and then tackle Sherlock.

Frankenstein is a very quick read, and it is pretty good. I haven't read any Sherlock so I can't give any suggestions, but I'd be very interested to hear what you pick and what you think of it! It's one of those things I've always meant to read but never knew where to start. :D

Yeah, I'm thinking I'm gonna go with Frankenstein first. I'll probably pick it up when I'm in the city on Saturday...

All I've got of Doyle is The Return of Sherlock Holmes, which I really enjoyed. I got it at a yard sale for a quarter, and prior to that my only experience with Holmes was watching Picard face off with Moriarity on the Holodeck. ;)

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] compactstars on Frankenstein - it's a slim little paperback, and won't take you long. Go with that first, and then two days later, start the Doyle. ;)

I'm actually kind of excited to read Sherlock! I've never really been too interested in the series before, but the BBC show has really gotten me interested.

Yep, probably what I'm gonna do.

When I eventually start reading it, I'll be sure to pick that one up! <3
