Jackie's Adventures in Texas

Well, I'm in San Antonio, Texas right now. Why, you ask? Because my mom just HAS to go to yet another Queensryche concert (heavy metal band from the 80s that my mom is obsessed with). I really don't see why we needed to come, especially since it's, like, really inconvenient and my mom's MET the band for Chrissakes. But whatever.
No offense to any Texans that might be on my f-list, but I really don't like it here. I'm not entirely sure why. You know how sometimes you just hate something/someone for no particular reason? Same thing with me and Texas. I mean, yeah it's hot, and yeah I'm not too fond of the culture here, but other than that I have no reason to dislike it so much. I mean, the meat here is amazing. I've had, like, three steaks in the past two days. SO delicious. But I digress.
I made it my specific goal not to go to the Alamo while we were here, and what do my parents make me do? Go to the friggin Alamo. *sigh* I was tempted to pull an Ozzy Osbourne, but of course I didn't. I mean, it was kind of cool, how old the building was and everything, but other than that it wasn't that big of a deal. Especially the gift shop. *shudders* But I'm gonna stop talking about it now.
We walked around way too much yesterday. And we went to this place that had the tackiest, ugliest, tourist-y stuff EVER. I wanted to kill myself while we were in there. And it was too fucking hot.
Finally saw Order of the Phoenix today. It was tres cool, but of course they screwed up the explanation of the Prophecy, like they screw up EVERY OTHER EXPLANATION IN EVERY OTHER MOVIE EXCEPT CoS. Ugh. But other than that, it was awesome.
I've decided that Seattle's Best Coffee is okay as long as it has whole milk and a crapload of sugar. And, since that company is owned by Starbucks, the same might hold true for them. I mean, I liked the cup o' Starbucks I had at State Street Grill a few weeks ago. I just had so much cream and sugar in it it was like cream and sugar with some coffee in it.
I need to get moving on my
heroes_bigboom thing. Finished Chapter 6 today. Wanna start Chapter 7. But I want to read more fics for the
bestofheroes awards. I also nominated fics at the
heroes_slash awards. Including some of my own stuff. Boo-yah.

Date: 2007-07-15 12:21 am (UTC)Ugh. I never really stopped blaming my parents for it, but I ended up at a school where I can do things like, hey, film movies, so I guess it wasn't all bad.

Date: 2007-07-15 01:16 am (UTC)Oh, hey did you see the river thing? There's like, a man-made river thing in San Antonio that goes through a huuuuuge mall. It was pretty much the only part of Texas that I liked.

Date: 2007-07-15 01:23 am (UTC)Yeah, that was actually the only part I liked too. It's really awesome. And I still don't understand why there aren't any fences there. What's stopping anyone from pushing a person in there? O_o Or someone falling. If I hadn't dodged this ten-year-old I would've fallen in myself.

Date: 2007-07-15 01:37 am (UTC)It's so pretty at night, what with the lights and everything. Or maybe the lights were only there because we were there around Christmas. Hm, I think if I wanted to kill someone, I'd def drown them in the river. But there are probably so many people around that he'd get rescued.
